Figure: Our starting point of the approach that we will develop. 7T single shot EPI diffusion with an isotropic voxel size of 1.4 mm and locally low rank reconstruction. Total scan time for 68 slices and 126 diffusion directions was 15 min. Lots of work to do now.

We are happy to announce that our lab just has received funding for a new DFG project as part of our new DFG research unit (RU) “Fast Mapping of Quantitative MR biosignatures at Ultra-high Magnetic Field”. In our joint subproject together with Frederik Laun [link], we will develop DWI and QSM at 7T with unprecedented spatial and spectral resolution at a scan time of less than 5 minutes. To achieve this, we will develop a special multi-shot EPI sequence with phase navigation, parallel transmission methods and low-rank and machine learning image reconstruction.
